how it started..
Originally County Confectionery, OV St Ives was founded by David Brian and his parents, Ken and Doreen.
It all began when David’s parents’ local fudge shop faced a supplier crisis during peak season. David, who had honed his sugar craft skills in London’s top restaurants, stepped in. Using his expertise to craft delicious fudge in his St. Ives kitchen, a fudge manufacturing business was born.
Demand skyrocketed, prompting a move to full factory production.
The team’s can-do spirit shone again when a national retailer’s chocolate supplier let them down.
Despite being new to chocolate-making, they rose to the challenge. Their delights soon became a staple in stores nationwide…
And a passion for chocolate was ignited…
And today..
With expertise in both fudge and chocolate, County Confectionery naturally found its home within the OV family.
Today, with David’s son, Mark, at the helm, OV St Ives remains true to its roots. It’s more than just a production facility; it’s a hub of creativity and collaboration. Our latest investment includes a state-of-the-art NPD and application kitchen, where we regularly host innovation workshops.
The St Ives team thrives on customer collaboration, sharing ideas, and tackling challenges.
It’s a destination customers love to visit, not only for the workshops that streamline production cycles but also for the unique Cornish experience.
