Our Switzerland site, formerly known as Hans Kaspar, produces a wide range of high-quality hard caramel crunch (nougat) and croquants, choco-dragee, and flavouring pastes. It is the only site in the OV family to handle nuts.
how it started..
Hans Kaspar, the company that would become OV Switzerland, was founded in 1925 as a bakery supplier. It all began with providing small bakeries with ingredients like vanilla cream powder.
While bakeries could produce these ingredients themselves, Hans Kaspar offered a valuable service: saving bakeries both time and effort whilst manufacturing these products in a more hygienic environment.
Upon the founder’s passing, his wife courageously took the helm. A pioneering Swiss female manager, she drove growth by fostering a strong family-like culture. This commitment to treating employees like family was exemplified by introducing one of the country’s first company pension schemes.
Her dedication to doing the right thing for her customers, staff, and products built Hans Kaspar’s reputation. This culture endures today.
And today..
With expertise in both artisanal and industrial production, the company naturally found its home within the OV family and became OV Switzerland.
Today, OV Switzerland supplies directly to industrial producers of chocolates, ice cream and biscuits. It remains true to its founding values focusing on clean-label ingredients and simple processes executed to perfection.
The quality products it produces stem from a blend of expertise, process, and raw materials – OV Switzerland excels at combining them all. Their attention to detail is evident in practices like roasting nuts slowly from the inside out, for deeper, richer flavours.
With this expertise, the OV Switzerland team thrives on customer collaboration, sharing ideas, and tackling challenges to create tailored products for a diverse range of clients, producing everything from pallet-sized orders to 200-tonne orders for global manufacturers.
