Candeco was founded in 1992 by five local entrepreneurs. They were acquired by the Orkla group in 2005 and became one of the founding members of the OV group in 2017.
The site has five production lines; three of these are caramel expert lines, two using traditional copper stills and one ultra-modern line. The other lines are used to create wholesale confectionery ingredients including bulk buy sprinkles and strands, and for chocolate and sugar coating.
There are also two packaging lines, one small and one large, to create suitable packaging solutions for all our B2B and Foodservice customers.
Did you know? Our Malmo factory is the only manufacturer of sprinkles, pearls, caramel and fudge in the Nordic region? They produce over 2600 tonnes each year.
innovation at the heart
We’re very proud of the innovation department in Malmo, where over 300 new product lines are created every year.
The team is headed up by Product developer Nils Astrom, who explains: “Innovation is really in our DNA. We develop based on an 80/20 rule so 80% of the projects come directly from clients and we work with them here in the lab in a co-creating process.
“The other 20% we are looking for trends in society and in other industries and using our imagination to come up with great product ideas.”
